NTPC growing at a rapid pace on the back of increasing demand for energy
On the occasion of NTPC Raising Day, the Union Power Minister R K Singh said the NTPC requires to enhance itself to become an international behemoth from the current national company status and dream of transforming itself into biggest multi-national firm in the field of energy.
Outlining the company’s achievements, future goals while discussing NTPC’s role in the energy transition of the country, Singh appreciated the company for passing on about 4500 crore to the states in the previous financial year through the optimization of energy charges.
He stressed upon the need of the NTPC to enhance its capacity as the country requires to keep pace with ever growing energy demand. He also highlighted the NTPC’s impressive record of producing nearly one billion units per day.
Singh also gave away the Swarn Shakti Awards to the plants of NTPC on the basis of their areas of Productivity, Protection, Safety and Environment improvement, besides Best Health Facilities, Community Development and CSR, among others.
Moreover, Singh also inaugurated the Shram Kaushal portal while the ceremony witnessed the virtual presence of the officials of NTPC from all across the country through online mode. Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC hoisted the flag at Engineering Office Complex, Noida amid the presence of the officials of NTPC.
