The Ministry of Tourism has launched a wedding tourism campaign to unlock India’s vast wedding industry potential. In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Developing Tourism in Mission Mode” vision, this ambitious campaign aims to position India as a top global wedding destination.

The campaign’s goal is to expand India’s wedding industry by inviting couples from around the world to celebrate their special day in India. G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Culture, Tourism, and DoNER, inaugurated the campaign, stating, “Today marks the beginning of a remarkable journey, positioning India as a premier wedding destination worldwide. With this campaign’s launch, we invite couples from around the world to explore enchanting wedding destinations across our incredible nation.” He emphasized a comprehensive approach ensuring every moment reflects India’s warmth and rich heritage.

The campaign profiles 25 key destinations across India, showcasing the country’s grandeur, blending ancient heritage with modern elegance. Collaboration with industry experts, associations, and wedding planners has shaped the campaign narrative, highlighting India’s allure as a wedding tourism destination.

Samit Garg, President of EEMA (Event and Entertainment Management Association), commended the Ministry of Tourism for turning this vision into a reality. The campaign explores India’s stunning locales, rituals, gastronomy, and infrastructure, presenting diverse possibilities.

Utilizing a 360-degree approach, the campaign leverages digital marketing, social media, partnerships with wedding planners, collaborations with influencers, and offline and online activations. It aims to redefine India’s image beyond extravagant weddings, offering themes like Beach Wedding, Nature Wedding, Royal Wedding, Himalayan Wedding, and more.

This initiative showcases India’s beauty and diversity on the global stage. It has the potential to captivate couples worldwide and is the start of a strategic endeavor to establish India as a wedding tourism destination, with plans for the domestic market.
