Indian startup ecosystem gears up for Inaugural Startup Mahakumbh
India is poised to host its inaugural ‘Startup Mahakumbh,’ the largest celebration of Indian startups at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Organized by ASSOCHAM, NASSCOM, Bootstrap Incubation & Advisory Foundation, TiE, and IVCA, the event will showcase India’s innovative prowess and enhance its global startup footprint. The event aims to facilitate connections between startups and a wide range of investors, including VCs, angel investors, family offices, and HNIs, as well as potential corporate partners. It is expected to attract over 1000 startups, 10 thematic tracks, 1000 investors, 500 incubators & accelerators, 5000 conference delegates, 10 country delegations, 5000 future entrepreneurs, and 40,000 business visitors over three days.
The event is supported by DPIIT, DoC, ITPO, SIDBI, GeM, ECGC, and Zomato. A curtain-raiser event was held at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, attended by Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Joint Secretary of DPIIT Sanjiv, and CEO of GeM Prashant Kumar Singh. Goyal emphasized the importance of Startup Mahakumbh in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, especially among students, to contribute to India’s growth story.
Sanjiv, Joint Secretary of DPIIT, highlighted the expected participation of 1000+ startups, 1000+ investors, and 500+ incubators, with 21 startup bridge countries actively engaging at the event. The curtain-raiser also featured key stakeholders such as Prashanth Prakash, Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Archana Jahagirdar, Nivruti Rai, and Sanjay Nayar.
Startup Mahakumbh aims to showcase innovative products, technologies, and business models across sectors, providing a platform for startups to connect with industry leaders. It will feature top voices in the startup ecosystem, including Rajan Anandan, Harish Bahl, Deepinder Goyal, Harshil Mathur, and Vineet Rai, and connect Indian startups with international networks. The event will also introduce a dedicated pavilion for the B2B manufacturing sector, highlighting India’s entrepreneurial excellence on the global stage.
