PM Modi inaugurates 2000 Railway Projects worth over Rs 41,000 Crore

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, today laid the foundation stone and inaugurated more than 2000 railway infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 41,000 crores via video conferencing. The event, part of the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Railways’ initiative, was attended by lakhs of people connected from 500 railway stations and 1500 other venues across the country.

During the event, PM Modi emphasized India’s unprecedented speed and scale of development, noting that these projects symbolize the new work culture of New India. He highlighted the massive expansion of education and health sector infrastructure launched recently in Jammu and Gujarat, along with the revamp of 550 stations in 12 states spread over 300 districts. PM Modi congratulated the citizens of India for these landmark projects, which are set to create employment and self-employment opportunities for lakhs of youth.

PM Modi also mentioned the modernization of railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, where 500 stations in the country are being revamped. He underlined that today’s event takes this resolve even further and provides a glimpse of India’s pace of progress. He also praised the upcoming Amrit Bharat Stations, which will be symbols of both development and heritage, showcasing local culture, architecture, and history.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significant milestones achieved in the railways over the last 10 years, including the introduction of modern facilities similar to those in airports at railway stations. He emphasized that the railways are becoming a mainstay of ease of travel for citizens, contributing significantly to India’s agricultural and industrial progress.

PM Modi concluded by highlighting the massive investment in infrastructure, creating new sources of income and employment. He credited the absence of scams for the savings used in doubling the speed of laying new lines, taking rails to new areas, and working on a dedicated freight corridor. He emphasized that every penny spent on infrastructure creates new opportunities, contributing to India’s economic growth and self-reliance.
