Ministry of Ayush organized ‘Yoga towards wellbeing in Covid-19 pandemic’ event  

Ayush Ministry joined hands with some yoga institutions and organized a collaborative initiative “Yoga for unity and well-being 2021” on virtual platform to spread awareness among the citizens about health benefits of yoga. In the current phase of pandemic there is a growing concern over its impact over the mental health of the people.

The event outlined that yoga is proving to be helping people with its stress-relieving and health-assuring features, especially in the current scenario of the outbreak of the pandemic.In fight against COVID-19, Yoga can emerge as an important support to the people. It can potentially reach every corner of the globe.

The event also included an important segment of Yoga protocol developed by Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) that’s helpful in the prevention of COVID. The event started with the messages from Shripad Naik, State Minister for Defense, MDNIY Director, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha. Yogrishi Swami Ramdev and Dr. H. R. Nagendra, Chancellor from Swami Vivekananda Yoga AnusandhanaSamsthana based in Bengaluru and the President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission, Kamlesh Patel (Daaji) also graced the event.

Earlier on 14th March, Ram Nath Kovind, President of India inaugurated a 100 –day long ”Yoga for unity and well-being” programme organized virtually. The programmed was focussed on the International Day of Yoga (IDY). The initiative was aimed at unifying authentic and traditional Yoga schools. More than fifty experts from diverse fields of study were part of this initiative.
