MSMEs cautioned against fake websites charging for facilitating registration

The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has cautioned MSMEs against several fraudulent websites charging money from the gullible MSMEs for facilitating registration. It has reiterated that registration should only be done on Government’s websites and that to address this issue, the Government of India has already taken various measures. Moreover, under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat package, the Government entities have been suggested to make payments maximum in forty-five days.

While making this announcement, the ministry also informed it has taken up up this matter with the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), Central Ministries as well as the State Governments and it’s doing follow up. Especially the follow up with CPSEs’ Heads has been done very actively.

The ministry has also provided a dedicated online format for the purpose of reporting the monthly pendency as well as the monthly payments. In addition, the Finance Ministry has made onboarding the TReDS platforms free. The platform is made for providing discounts in MSMEs’ bill against the supplies where payments are awaited and the Government has waived the charges till March 2021.

Further, the ministry’s portal for registration of Udyam  (https://udyamregistration.gov.in/) is being integrated with GeM and TReDS. In this way, while registering at MSME on the GoI portal, integration with the mechanism of GeM and TReDS will happen automatically and the entire process is paperless.
