NALCO announces Rs 30000 crore diversification and expansion plans

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has announced an ambitious expansion and diversification plan with an investment outlay of around Rs30,000 crore to be achieved by the financial year 2027-28. A mega growth plan it will have a multiplier effect in production as well as consumption of Aluminium, said Pralhad Joshi, Minister for Coal and Mines while speaking at the occasion of 41st Foundation Day of NALCO.

He said the government of Odisha in association with NALCO is setting up an Aluminium Park in Angul to encourage ancillary industries and development of downstream in the state that would boost local entrepreneurship and enhance employment generation. Currently NALCO is operational in the tribal dominated district of Angul and Koraput in Odisha and it contributes  12 per cent Aluminium ,33 per cent Aluminia and 32 per cent Bauxite production in the country.
