The Ministry of External Affairs is organising Pravasi Bhartiya Divas 2021 Convention based on the theme Contributing to Aatmanirbhar Bharat virtually and the mega event, being organised on January 9, encompasses three sessions. H.E. Chandrikapersad Santokhi, President of the Republic of Suriname will be the Chief Guest of the event to be inaugurated by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
The event will have two plenary sessions after the inaugural session. Commerce and Indstry Minister and External Affairs Minister will address the first plenary session on the topic, “Role of Diaspora in Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and it will be followed by the second Plenary Session– on the topic, “Facing Post Covid Challenges – which will be addressed by Commerce and Industry Minister and External Affairs Minister. The event will culminate with Valedictory address by the President of India.
While the winners of Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz organised online will be announced during the event, it will also witness Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Awards conferred upon selected Indian diaspora members in recognition or their achievements and contributions to various fields in India and the world over. A flagship event of External Affairs Ministry, the event, “Pravasi Bhartiya Divas” provides a platform to connect with the overseas citizens of the country.
