Paradip Port achieves record monthly coastal thermal coal handling growth of 58.11% over the previous fiscal

Paradip Port has recorded highest ever cargo throughput compared to the major ports by handling of 12.6 MMT in in December last year. The port has further targeted to cross 100 MMT cargo handling mark in January and it’s poised to set record cargo handling in the current fiscal. It aims to achieve more than 125 MMT cargo handling during this period.

If we compare the total cargo handling by Paradip Port in December 2022 PPA vis-à-vis this period last year, it has handled 96.81 MMT cargo over 83.6 MMT last year in the corresponding period. The port has introduced several system improvement measures, fuelling growth 15.5% over the last year.

Not only this but the Coastal Thermal Coal handling has also shown 58.11% growth in the comparison to the last fiscal. it has emerged as a coastal shipping hub, which has plans to ship thermal coal to various power houses in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
