President Murmu: Villagers Should Choose Their Development Model

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the National Panchayat Awards Week and conferred the National Panchayat Awards during the ‘National Conference on Incentivisation of Panchayats-cum-Award Ceremony’ in New Delhi. In her address to the gathering, the President emphasized the importance of villages in the development of the country and said that villagers should have the right to choose their development model. She also recognized the significant contributions of women towards the all-round development of society and stressed the need to maintain peace and harmony in villages.

The Ministry has organized a series of Thematic Conferences based on the theme of “Panchayaton ke Sankalpon ki Siddhi ka Utsav” to celebrate the occasion. There will be five national conferences during the celebrations. Besides the way forward for 2047, it will include nine themes under the localization of sustainable development goals through Panchayati Raj Institutions. Union Ministers Giriraj Singh, Kapil Moreshwar Patil, and Faggan Singh Kulaste were also present.
