Cow-based products industry set to acquire organized status

A global webinar organised on World Milk Day saw massive participation from Veterinarians, Scientists, Farmers as well as the Industrialists from the world over. Organised jointly by GCCI and ICAR-CIRC, the online event established that Cow-based products industry is now all set to acquire organized status on the back of the growing awareness on the importance of cows and the health benefits of cow products such as Milk and Ghee, among others.
While attending the webinar, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala informed that the youth is showing enthusiasm in Cow Entrepreneurship and that 4000 Mobile Veterinary Units have been approved by the Government of India.
The webinar was centred around the topic, “ Sustainability in the Dairy sector as well as Environmental, Nutritional and Socio Economic empowerment. Vallabhbhai Kathiria, Founder, GCCI said the milk of Desi Cow is elixir as it keeps us healthy throughout life.  According to ICAR-CIRC Director Abhijit Mitra the country contributes 21 per cent of the milk produced in the world. R.S. Sodhi, MD, Amul added that Indian dairy sector has the best supply chain efficiency in in the world.
