Government so far released Rs 28,413.60 crore for 100 Smart Cities Projects

Under Smart Cities Mission, 100 Smart Cities have been selected and these Smart Cities have issued tenders for 6,721 projects valued at Rs 1,88,507 crore. In 6,124 projects among these Rs 1,62,908 crore worthe work orders have been issued and Rs 58,735 crore worth 3421 projects have been completed.

For these projects the Central Government will provide Rs 48,000 crore as financial support over the next five years. It means Rs 100 crore per year per city will be provided as per SCM Guidelines. The State Government/Urban Local Body (ULB) will also contribute an equal amount on a matching basis.

Rs 28,413.60 crore has been released by the Government of India for 100 Smart Cities as on 21 January 2022. Out of this amount Rs 23,665.27 crore that is 83% of this amount has been utilized. All this information has been provided by Hardeep Singh Puri, the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs in Rajya Sabha.
