India committed to increase share of natural gas in primary energy mix by 2030

The country’s energy transition roadmap will create large scale employment while driving self-reliance, according to Dharmendra Pradhan, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister. While inaugurating five CNG stations, he said for a more sustainable energy use the country is committed to achieve fifteen per cent share of natural gas in primary energy mix by the year 2030. He said greater use of natural gas will reduce import bill as it will reduce dependence on fossil fuel while helping in reducing environmental pollution and fulfill commitment to COPE-21 climate change commitments.
