MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar encourages startups at NIRMA University

The pandemic has opened new avenues of opportunities for startups and new age entrepreneurs. According to Union Minister of State for Electronics & Information, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Startups are the new reality that has emerged out of the structural changes in the Indian economy brought out by the reform oriented policies of the government. Chandrasekhar was deliberating in an event titled “ New India for Young India : Techade of Opportunities” held at the NIRMA University in Ahmedabad.

The Minister has been on a 2 Day visit to Gujarat t o connect and interact with Entrepreneurs, Startups and Students in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mehsana and Anand. Appreciating the Narendra Modi Government’s successful handling of the pandemic, he said the new India is shattering age old narratives of Democracy and cited the robust GDP Growth rate. He highlighted that the country has emerged as world’s third largest startup ecosystem encompassing 75,000 registered startups and 100 Unicorns.

While interacting with the students he encouraged the youth by terming them real drivers of Indian economy moving towards its goal of achieving 5 Trilion dollar economy. The Minister also visited Ganpat University and 5 G centre of excellence that’s the assembly line set up by Suzuki under the Joint Initiative between India and Japan. Later the minister met industry leaders in Anand.
