National Career Service being implemented in mission mode

A variety of employment related service is being implemented through National Career Service (NCS) project being run by the Labour and Employment Ministry in Mission Mode. The services offered by the NCS include vocational guidance, job matching and internship, apprenticeship among others.

NCS provides all these services online and the information services are available free of cost on the portal for the use of all including the employers, jobseekers, job placement organisation and training providers among others. The portals can be accessed from anywhere—common service centres, post office network, cyber cafes and mobile devices, etc.

A meeting for NCS was organised by Sunil Barthwal, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment participated by the representatives of top private job portals. Barthwal briefed about the vision of the ministry towards enhancing skilling and job opportunities for strengthening the entire ecosystem. He also said that the portal will be interlinked with ASEEM, e-Shram, Udyam and NCS portals. Private job portals like Times Jobs, Monster, Portea, HireMee among others participated in this meeting.

The minister in the meanwhile, informed that to strengthen the employment and skilling the ecosystem of employment in the country the NCS has onboard on this portal, the association like Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) among others. The Ministry is also leveraging Universal Account Number (UAN) issued by eShram and EPFO for easy registration facility on NCS.
